What is Mica Enhanced Flake Blend?

The Mica Enhanced Flake Blend is a decorative flooring product that combines traditional polymer flakes with natural and colored mica flakes. This unique mix creates a visually striking flooring finish with both color and shimmering reflective highlights when used in resinous floor coating systems like epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, or urethane.

How does this blend differ from regular vinyl flake blends?

Unlike standard vinyl-only flake blends, this product includes mica flakes which add shimmer and reflective highlights. This helps enhance depth, visual appeal, and helps hide surface imperfections in your flooring project.

How many blends are available?

There are 26 pre-mixed blend options available, each offering a unique combination of polymer and mica flakes to suit different aesthetic preferences.

Where can I use this flake blend?

Mica enhanced blends are suitable for a wide variety of interior and commercial spaces including: garages, basements, hallways, restaurants, hospitals, offices, schools, and more. They are designed for use in epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, or urethane flooring systems.

How do I apply the blend?

1. Broadcast the flakes into the basecoat (epoxy or other resin) while it’s still wet.

2. Allow the basecoat to set until tack-free.

3. Remove excess flakes from the surface.

4. Apply two clear topcoats to seal and protect the finish for durability and long-term performance.

Do the flakes improve performance or just aesthetics?

While the main purpose is decorative, the mica enrichment can also help mask minor surface imperfections and improve visual depth. It does not replace the need for a proper coating system to achieve performance properties (e.g., wear resistance, chemical resistance).

Can I customize a blend?

This product comes in preset blends that mix polymer flakes with mica. If you want a completely custom flake look with different materials or ratios, you may combine these blends with other flake products or contact customer service for advice, but custom orders may have different terms. Are these blends returnable?

Because flake blends are custom packed when you order, they are not eligible for return. If you’re unsure about colors or sizes, check out our Sample Page to purchase 1 or 3 mica flake samples.

Do mica flakes affect slip resistance?
