Outdoor UV Stable Flakes | Multi-Sized For Outdoor Epoxy, Polyaspartic Floors

Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Flakes have been designed specifically to use in spaces with direct or indirect sun exposure for improved color stability and longevity of your floor. We do offer hybrid flakes are composed of multiple colors and multiple sizes of the UV stable flakes to create a unique look. Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Flakes offer a decorative look for your outdoor epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea and urethane floor coating system.

How thick or how many coats of a topcoat required depend on the amount of flakes used. Chips are sold in 10 lb boxes . How much to use depends on the look desired. The more chips used the less you see of the base coat color and more you see the chips. For a partial broadcast, you can apply chips at the rate of 20 sq’ to 200 sq’ of floor coating per lb of chips. For full broadcast to refusal it takes substantially more, between 5-10 sq’/lb depending on the size flake. Full broadcast means chips are applied so heavy that the coating can’t absorb anymore and they are sitting on the surface.

Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Chips standard size is 1/4″. Other sizes in 1/8″ and 1/16″ are available just write in the notes section of the bottom of the checkout page.

What are Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Flakes?

Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Flakes are decorative multi-sized vinyl flakes designed to enhance and protect floor coatings used in outdoor environments. They contain UV absorbers to improve color stability and reduce discoloration from sun exposure when used with epoxy, polyaspartic, urethane, or polyurea flooring systems.

What coatings can these flakes be used with?

These flakes are compatible with:

Why should I use UV stable flakes outdoors?

Outdoor UV Stable Factory Blend Flakes are formulated with UV absorbers and colorfast pigments to resist fading and discoloration when exposed to sunlight — a common issue with standard flakes not designed for exterior use. This results in longer-lasting color and appearance outdoors.

How much product do I need for my project?

Coverage depends on how heavily you want to broadcast the flakes:

  • Partial broadcast: Approximately 20–200 sq ft per lb, depending on how sparse or dense you want the flake distribution.

  • Full broadcast (to refusal): Approximately 5–10 sq ft per lb (depending on size flake), where flakes completely cover the surface and the coating can no longer absorb more.

What size and packaging do these flakes come in?

  • Standard sizes: Multi-sized flakes typically include combinations of 1/4″, 1/8″, and 1/16″ for a natural appearance.

  • Sold in: 10 lb boxes, which is the standard unit for purchase.

Will these flakes prevent fading over time?
