Terrazzo Stone Flakes | Multi-Sized For Epoxy, Polyaspartic Floors
Terrazzo Multi-Sized Stone Flakes have been designed to combine the traditional appearance of Italian marble terrazzo with the limitless customizable style options of color flakes. Terrazo Stone Flakes offer a decorative Terrazo stone look for your epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea and urethane floor coating system. Although Terrazo Stone Flakes look like real Terrazo, they are actually a manufactured vinyl flake made up of a random selection of many different sizes flakes.
Terrazzo Stone Flakes are broadcast into a colored epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic or urethane basecoat. When the coating is tack free and ready to be re-coated, excess chips are cleaned off the surface and one or two coats of a clear topcoat are applied. How thick or how many coats of a topcoat required depend on the amount of flakes used.
Chips are sold in 10 lb boxes. How much to use depends on the look desired. The more chips used the less you see of the base coat color and more you see the chips. For a partial broadcast, you can apply chips at the rate of 20 sq’ to 200 sq’ of floor coating per lb of chips. For full broadcast to refusal it takes substantially more, between 8-10 sq’/lb. Full broadcast means chips are applied so heavy that the coating can’t absorb anymore and they are sitting on the surface.

What are terrazzo stone flakes and what are they used for?
Terrazzo Stone Flakes are decorative multi-sized paint aggregates designed to be broadcast into resin-based floor coatings such as epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, or urethane. They create a natural terrazzo stone appearance while adding depth, texture, and visual interest to floors.
How do terrazzo stone flakes work?
Terrazzo Stone Flakes are broadcast into a wet base coat while it is still tacky. Once the coating cures, excess flakes are scraped and vacuumed off, then sealed with one or more clear topcoats. The number of topcoats depends on the broadcast density.
What sizes and colors are available?
Terrazzo Stone Flakes are manufactured in a multi-sized blend to mimic traditional terrazzo stone floors. They are available in a variety of pre-blended color options designed to create a natural stone look.
How much product do I need?
Coverage depends on how heavily the flakes are applied. A partial broadcast can cover approximately 20–200 square feet per pound, while a full broadcast to refusal typically covers about 8–10 square feet per pound. Heavier broadcasts require more flakes and additional clear topcoats.
Can terrazzo stone flakes be used outdoors?
Yes, terrazzo stone flakes can be used outdoors when paired with a UV-stable coating system. Using a UV-resistant clear topcoat is recommended to help maintain color stability over time. For additional options, consider using our Outdoor UV Stable Flakes for additional UV resistance.
Can I create a custom terrazzo stone flake blend?
At this time, terrazzo stone flakes are offered in pre-blended color options. If you’re unsure which blend to choose, ordering a sample first is recommended before purchasing larger quantities. How are terrazzo stone flakes packaged and shipped?
Terrazzo Stone Flakes are in 10 lbs boxes and can be shipped ground or by air shipment. Due to their custom nature, flakes are not eligible for return once shipped.

Yes. When broadcast into a floor coating, terrazzo stone flakes help conceal minor surface imperfections, cracks, and substrate variations while enhancing the overall appearance of the floor.
Do terrazzo stone flakes change the floor texture?
Once sealed with clear topcoats, the finished floor can range from smooth to lightly textured depending on application thickness. Additional slip-resistant additives can be incorporated into the topcoat if desired. Our most popular anti-slip additive is our 20 grit Polybeads.
