Create-A-Blend Custom Vinyl Chips / Flakes | 144 Solid Colors

Our custom blend solid color vinyl color chips/flakes are designed to enhance the look of of seamless epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic and urethane resin-based flooring systems.  Choose from over 360 solid color and pre-mixed factory blends for use on commercial, residential and industrial floor projects. Please note that the 1-inch and 1/2-inch flake sizes are available only in select solid colors and factory blends.  All 144 solid colors SHOWN BELOW or download Create-A-Blend Special Order Flyer. All available 5 sizes from 1/16″ to 1″ . Create your own unique custom decorative blend, mixing 2 or more solid colors together anyway you want.  No extra cost for custom mixing.

HOW TO VIEW YOUR CUSTOM CHIP/FLAKE MIX? Use our COLOR VISUALIZER to create your own custom blend from 144 solid colors and see how it looks when broadcast into 15 room scenes pre-loaded or upload your own project photo.  The Color Visualizer also allows viewing 220 different factory blends.   Chips are broadcast into a colored epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic, urethane basecoat.  When coating is tack free and ready to be re-coated, excess chips are cleaned off the surface and one or two coats of a clear topcoat are applied. How thick or how many topccoats required depend on amount of flakes used.

How many lbs of chips to use depends on look desired.  The more chips used, less you see the basecoat color and more you see the chips.  For a partial broadcast, apply chips at rate of 20 sq’ to 250 sq’ of floor coating per lb of chips.

For full broadcast to refusal it takes substantially more, 5 – 10 sq’/lb.  Full broadcast means chips applied so heavy coating can’t absorb anymore and are sitting on surface

**For Outdoor Projects Consider Using our Create-A-Blend Outdoor UV Stable Flakes . Otherwise, earth tone vinyl chip/flake colors offer long term UV stability for outdoor applications.  However intense, rich and bright colors such as Lime Green, Hot Pink, Dark Blue not recommended for outdoor use as they fade and shift color over 1-2 years.  For outdoor applications use Aliphatic clear coating that won’t yellow to maintain maximum UV stability.

Note:  Flake orders are custom made at the time of order placement. Due to this, flake orders are NOT eligible for return. If you are not certain that you will like the selected flakes, please feel free to contact us to arrange a small sample.

  • Flakes/Chips are sold by the 10 lb box
  • Select what color(s) you want in your blend using the Create-A-Blend Special Order Flyer or color charts below.
  • Determine what % you want each color to be (total must add up to 100% for all colors combined)
  • Put your color name(s), Part Number and % each color in the Notes Section on bottom of Checkout Page
  • USE THE DROP DOWN SELECTOR ABOVE for the size you want your flakes from 6 options, pictures below: (1″, 1/2″, 1/4″, 1/8″, 1/16″, 1/32″)
  • Select how many total lbs of chips/flakes to order, see 4 pictures below to see chip density: Light, Medium, Heavy, Full Broadcast for guide of how many square feet each lb chips will cover.  Thinner the chip diameter, the more lbs to achieve the same density “look”.

What is the Create-A-Blend custom flake program?
The Create-A-Blend program allows you to design your own custom vinyl chip/flake blend by choosing 2 or more solid colors from 144 available options, selecting a size, and specifying the percentage of each color you want in your final mix — all at no extra cost for mixing. How do I design my custom flake blend?
Choose the solid colors you want to include in your blend, decide what percentage of each color you want (total must equal 100%), and enter this information on the checkout page in the notes section. Your blend will be factory mixed and shipped ready to use.

What sizes and color options are available for custom blends?
Custom flakes are available in 6 sizes (1/32″, 1/16″, 1/8″, 1/4″, 1/2″, and 1″). You can select up to 144 solid colors to build nearly unlimited custom blends, plus you can preview your blend using the Color Visualizer tool (to view Click Here).

Is there a way to preview what my custom blend will look like?
Yes! Use the Color Visualizer tool to create your blend digitally and see how it will look in 15 preloaded room scenes or on your own uploaded project photo (to view Click Here).

How much product should I order for my project?
Coverage depends on how heavily you broadcast the flakes. Heavier broadcasts result in richer coverage and less visibility of the basecoat, while lighter broadcasts cover more square footage per box. Coverage rates vary by flake size and application method.

Can I use my custom blend outdoors?
Yes, you can. For outdoor applications or UV-intense projects, consider using Outdoor UV-Stable flakes or a UV-stable clear topcoat to maximize long-term color stability in sunlight. For our Outdoor UV Stable Create-A-Blend options Click Here.

Can I mix my custom blend with specialty flakes or additives?
Yes — many customers mix custom vinyl flakes with other decorative elements (like mica, glitter, or hybrid stone flakes) or add anti-slip additives in the topcoat for texture and traction. How are custom flake orders packaged and shipped?
Custom flakes are sold in 10 lb boxes and are made to order, so they cannot be returned. If you’re unsure about your blend, ordering a small sample or previewing it in the Color Visualizer is strongly recommended (to view Click Here).

Are custom blends compatible with epoxy, polyaspartic, and urethane floor systems?
Yes — custom vinyl flakes are designed for use with epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, and urethane coatings when broadcast into the basecoat and sealed with a clear topcoat following manufacturer guidelines.

Can I change or adjust my blend after submitting my order?
If you need to make changes, contact customer support as soon as possible. Because blends are custom mixed when the order is placed, adjustments may only be possible before production begins. (Add internal process details if you have them.)

Is there any extra cost for custom mixing?
No. Custom blends are mixed at no extra cost — you only pay for the product you order.
