Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand For Epoxy, Polyaspartic, Polyurethane, Urethane Coatings | Glows 8+ Hours | 30 Grit

Our Green Glow in the Dark Anti-Slip sand offers a dramatic and exciting glow in the dark green affect when the lights are off and at night for up to 8+ hours, all the while providing increased slip resistance to epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic, urethane and polyurethane floor coating systems and improved safety when surface is wet.  The Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand can be used for both indoor and outdoor projects.

The Green Glow in the Dark Sand comes in a popular 30 grit (500 micron) size for good anti-slip protection for residential projects and lighter duty anti-slip commercial projects.   Purchase in small 4 oz, 8 oz and 1 lb amounts or money saving 2.2 lb (1 kg) package.

You can apply the Green Glow a couple different ways.  You can sprinkle the Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand into a wet clear topcoat and then do what is called a dry backroll (lightly run a roller over the wet surface which will flip the Green Glow Sand over and encapsulate it in the clear coating).  You can also mix the Green Glow Sand directly into the clear topcoat before application to the surface..

Anti-slip aggregates are used primarily to reduce the risk of falls from a wet, slippery surface.   However our Green Glow Anti-Slilp offers in addition to an anti-slip surface, a unique decorative look when the lights go out.  How much anti-slip aggregate to use involves a trade-off between safety, visual appearance and ability to keep clean.  Anti-slip aggregates will reduce the sheen level of a coating and become more visible the greater the application rate.  They can also make it harder to keep clean. Users need to determine their own requirements as every application is different.

Usage varies widely from a low of 4 oz per gallon topcoat typically used for lighter duty residential anti-slip applications or where a lighter glow look is desired to as much as 1 lb to 1.5 lb for every gallon of topcoat on higher risk  or commercial applications when safety is more important or where a more dramatic and brighter night time glow is desired.  Recommend small test to understand how much additive will produce your desired results.

Note, Green Glow Sand has to be fully encapsulated in and protected by a coating.  It is not designed to get wet as moisture can damage its glow properties over time.  In daylight the Green Glow Sand has a light pale green look.
