For cold weather projects in fall and winter with temperatures below 50°F, we offer 2 part epoxy, polyaspartic and urethane coatings that cure as low as 18°F. Temperature ratings given are always for both surface and air. Ratings assume temperature not falling below rated level during curing process unless otherwise noted.
Cold temperature coatings extend application window for many garage, driveway, patio and new unheated commercial concrete projects to later in fall and winter. For coatings offering both slow and fast set options, fast set should be used in cold temperatures.
Low temperatures cause extended cure times and delay recoat time when applying a 2nd coat or topcoat. As temperatures drop and cure times increase dramatically, it will delay how long before your project can be put back in-service. Coating viscosity also increases as temperatures drop, becoming thicker with slower self leveling properties and requiring more care in application. Best to store product at room temperature in cold weather until right before use.
