APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces must be dry, clean, free of chalk and loose paint, grease, oil, wax, silicone, efflorescence etc. Asphalt and previously painted concrete must be scrubbed with PerfectCleaner according to label directions, or a strong detergent such as TSP. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to stand until completely dry. New and/or unpainted concrete must be primed when required due to asbestos contamination with PerfectPrimer first.  Surface should be roughed up or “etched” with a 25% solution of muriatic acid to water. Apply solution to concrete and allow to stand until bubbling ceases, rinse THOROUGHLY with clean water and allow to stand until completely dry. Wear proper eye, skin, and respiratory protection.

PRODUCT MIXING: For best mixing results recommend a Jiffy Mixer style drill mixer.

APPLICATION: Stir well to a smooth consistency immediately before use. Apply with a high 3/8″ or 1.2″ quality medium nap synthetic roller cover and a Nylon or Polyester brush.

UNPAINTED CONCRETE: First coat MUST be thinned with 1 pint of clean water per gallon of paint and brushed or rolled well into surface. Dries to touch in one hour, second coat may be applied after 12 hours dry time.

ASPHALT AND PREVIOUSLY PAINTED CONCRETE: Apply 2 coats allowing 12 hours between coats. For added slip prevention, up to one pound of clean and dry fine silica sand may be added to each gallon of paint. For best service, add sand in first coat material only. Stir occasionally during application to prevent settling of sand. Will take foot traffic in two hours, however, seven days curing time MUST elapse prior to automobile traffic exposure.

Do not apply PaintPlus over the following surfaces or coatings: Hydraulic cement, silicone or silicate sealers, epoxies, polyurethanes, and some glossy paints. To determine whether proper adhesion is possible, apply a small test patch of Sure-Grip to an inconspicuous area of the substrate in question and allow to dry 48 hours. Check adhesion by applying and then removing a piece of duct tape from the test patch. If any paint remains on the duct tape, the surface is not suitable for coating.

CLEANUP: Clean all hands and tools with soap and warm water immediately after use. Clean spatters immediately with warm soapy water. If spatters are allowed to dry, clean with xylene, lacquer thinner, or other strong solvent (read cautions and instructions on solvent label). CAUTION, some solvents may dissolve asphalt
