E6470 Textured Primer | 100% Acrylic Latex | High Build Elastomeric | Concrete Masonry Stucco Wood

The E6470 Textured Primer is a premium quality, 100% Acrylic Latex, High Build Elastomeric Primer Sealer for sealing new and previously painted surfaces. This breathable coating allows for matching of surrounding textured surfaces to help ensure continuity of the surface. It is also an excellent option when repairing a textured surface.

Available in 1 Gallon & 5 gallon containers and in ready to use white color.

Great for use as primer with our textured elastomeric wall coating Tec-Top Elastomeric.

Primer: None Required

Topcoat: Most oil or latex based paints. Specifically designed to be used with the E64 Rain Shield line of coatings.

APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expects to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period. If fog or rain is expected within 24 hours, DO NOT APPLY.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE APPLICATION STEPS

Surface Preparation:

Cleaning and General Preparation: Loose or peeling coatings must be removed by sand or water blasting. All loose or defective concrete or masonry and any surface contaminates such as dirt, oils, mildew, chalk and efflorescence which may adversely affect product adhesion and performance must be removed.

Application Instructions:

Apply by brush, roller or spray. MIX THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO USE. For best mixing results, recommend a Jiffy style drill mixer. CAUTION: Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expected to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period or when
fog or rain is anticipated.  DO NOT THIN

Spray: Use tip size 1/4″

Smooth: 50-60 Square Feet Per Gallon

Stucco: 40-60 Square Feet Per Gallon

Heavy Textured: 40-50 Square Feet Per Gallon

Masonry: 

Surface must be free from dirt, dust, previous loose material, efflorescence, mildew, form oils, and release agents. Form oils and release agents must be sandblasted or wire brushed off.

Wood:

Remove all loose material and dirt. Smoothly finished wood should be sanded first.

Drying Time: 

Dries to touch in 30 minutes. Wait 24 hours before topcoating.

Limitations: 

Do not apply over mildew Not recommended for below grade (NOTE: Retaining walls, planter boxes etc. must be waterproofed on the
backside with a below grade waterproofing type material prior to back filling). Not recommended for application to frost covered surfaces. Not recommended for application if rain is expected within 24 hours. Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expects to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period or when fog or rain is in the 24 hour forecast.

Efflorescence: 

Must be removed prior to application.  Recommend using our Restore-N-Prep  OR by washing with a 10% Muriatic Acid Solution.

Mildew:

Mildew is a fungus, brown, black, grey or white in color which will rapidly grow through any coating applied over it. A solution of
50% household bleach and 50% water will kill the mildew. Rinse thoroughly. See precautions on bleach label before using.

Clean Up: 

Clean tools and hands with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

Maintenance:

E6470 is NOT intended to be an exposed surface film. Refer to the topcoat technical bulletin for maintenance directions.
