Garage Upgraded Quartz Granules with DT-454 Epoxy, Aspartic 85 Polyaspartic and Repairs with 830 Polyurea

Customer in Ohio looked to upgrade his garage with a quartz granule system. The quartz granules are a great looking, high build surface that smooths out imperfections in the concrete with an excellent anti-slip texture and offer a long lasting, tough durable system.
The concrete was thoroughly prepared prior to application of the product. This was accomplished using a concrete diamond grinder to rough up the concrete to a 60-80 grit sandpaper feel. Next, he used the 830 fast Set Polyurea Repair in a natural color to help repair cracks in the concrete. The 830 Polyurea Sealant is a fast set chemical resistant adhesive and caulking. It has flexible concrete floor repair and prevents reflective cracking.
They used a 3 step application process. First applying a thick (120 sq’/gallon) coat of our DT-454 100% solids commercial grade epoxy and broadcasting Gray Haze color quartz granules at the rate of 50 lbs per 100 sq’. Ten hours later they removed the loose granules and applied a 2nd coat of the DT-454 Epoxy Clear Color at 120 sq’/gallon and a 2nd broadcast of the Gray Haze quartz granules at 50 lbs per 100sq’. The final step was completed 10 hours later with a clear Polyaspartic topcoat of the Aspartic 85 applied at (120 sq’/gallon)
