6700C ESD Premium Static Conductive Anti-Static Paint

6700C ESD Vinyl Paint Plus is a static conductive water based acrylic vinyl coating to use in static controlled environments in 3 different colors with a durable, low sheen finish.  Static conductive in the range of 10e3 – 10e6 ohms.  Conforms to ANSI/ESD S20.20-2014 when tested according to ANSI/ESD STM7.1   For your static dissipative requirements, see 6700 ESD Static Dissipative Paint

Recommended for use on properly prepared interior concrete floors, but can also be applied to walls, wood and metal surfaces.  Features good resistance to abrasion, oils and washing.  For applying directly to VCT, ceramic tile, vinyl, linoleum or asbestos mastics and cutback and carpet glues with minimal preparation consider our Perfect Primer Sealer.

Available 1 gallon and 5 gallon pails and in 3 colors: light gray, dark gray, black.    Our static dissipative version of the 6700 ESD Static Dissipative Anti-Static Paint is available in wider variety of 9 colors.

PRIMER:  For applying directly to VCT, ceramic tile, vinyl, linoleum or asbestos mastics, cutback and carpet glues with minimal preparation consider our Perfect Primer Sealer.

TOPCOAT: Optional:  None required.  For additional physical protection as a low cost sacrificial option, use the 4000 Acrylic Static Dissipative Clear Floor Finish

We also offer the option to include a 2″ inch-wide copper grounding strip for grounding to earth grounds. Copper is 1.4 mil thickness (2.6 mil thickness with the conductive adhesive backing).  Recommend at least 1 grounding strip every 1,000 sq’ of project surface area.  See the guide:  HOW TO GROUND ESD COATINGS

For floor surfaces subject to heavy wheeled traffic use including forklift and pallet jack traffic, we offer our GroundWorx Ultra Coating System which includes a high performance 2 part 100% solids epoxy basecoat and high solids urethane topcoat for excellent ESD anti-static control in a physically demanding environment.

For more information on anti-static floor systems, see our video library.

MIXING AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

RODUCT STORAGE: Store product in an area so as to bring the material room temperature before using.  Continuous storage should be between 60 and 90 degree F.  Low temperatures or great temperature fluctuations may cause product crystallization.

GENERAL SURFACE PREPARATION:  All surfaces must be sound, dry, clean and free of oil, grease, dirt, mildew, form release agents, curing compounds, loose and flaking paint and other foreign substances.

How to Ground 6700C:  We offer a Two-inch-wide copper grounding strip for grounding to earth grounds. Copper is 1.4 mil thickness (2.6 mil thickness with the conductive adhesive backing).  Recommend at least 1 grounding strip every 1,000 sq’ of project surface area.  See the guide:  HOW TO GROUND ESD COATINGS

NEW SURFACES:

Concrete (concrete floors) and masonry Do not use on floors subject to hydrostatic pressure. Cure at least 30 days before painting. pH must be 10.0 or lower. Roughen slick poured or precast concrete and remove sealers by chemical cleaning or abrasive method such as sandsweeping. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Must be internally dry. Remove loose aggregate. Prime with this product.

Wood: sand smooth. Remove sanding dust. Prime with this product.

Steel: Performance over hand or power tool cleaned surfaces is dependent on the degree of cleaning. Prime with a metal primer.

Galvanized metal and aluminum: Clean off oils and other contaminates. Prime with a galvanized metal primer.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
Wash to remove contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Dull glossy areas by light sanding. Remove sanding dust. Remove loose paint. Scrub heavy chalk areas and overhead (exterior) areas such as eaves with soap and water. Remove all mildew by washing with a solution of 16 oz (473 mL) liquid household bleach and two oz (59 mL) non-ammoniated liquid detergent per gallon (3.785 L) of water. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Prime bare areas with primer specified under NEW SURFACES.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC.  EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear an NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before starting project, find out how to protect yourself and others by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

SPREADING RATE:Apply at approx. 200 sq ft/gal. Actual coverage may vary depending on substrate and application method.

DRYING TIME:  At 770 F (250 C) and 50% RH, dries to touch in 2 to 4 hours, to recoat in 8 hours and to light foot traffic in 24 hours. Low temperature, high humidity, thick films or poor ventilation will increase these times.

PRODUCT APPLICATION:Mix thoroughly before use. May be applied by brush, roller or spray. No thinning required. For airless spray application, use a .015” – .019” tip at 2000 psi, adjust pressure as needed.  Do not apply when surface or air temperature is below 50F ( 10C) or if rain or heavy dew is expected within 48 hours of application. Two coats are suggested for best results. Spot treatments can be applied for worn areas over previously applied ACL Staticide Dissipative Floor Finish without any hot spots. For interior use, allow adequate ventilation during application and drying.

CLEANUP: Clean hands and tools immediately with warm, soapy water.  Clean spills right away with a damp cloth.

FLOOR CLEANING: Caution!  Some cleaners may affect the color of the floor installed. Test each cleaner in a small area, utilizing your cleaning technique.  If no ill effects are noted, you can continue to clean with the product and process tested.

RESTRICTIONS: Restrict the use of the floor to light traffic and non-harsh chemicals until the coating is fully cured (see technical data under full cure).  It is best to let the floor remain dry for the full cure cycle. Dependent on actual complete system application, surface may be slippery, especially when wet or contaminated; keep surface clean and dry.

LIMITATIONS:

  • Substrate temperature must be 5°F above dew point.
  • All new concrete must be cured for at least 30 days prior to application.
  • Physical properties are typical values and not specifications.
