E64 Rain Shield Elastomeric Coating | Flexible 400% Elongation | 100% Acrylic | Masonry Stucco Wood Metal Concrete | 800+ Colors

The E64 Rain Shield Series Elastomeric Wall Coating System is a premium quality, high build ceramic low luster, elastomeric coating system designed to provide a watertight secure coating on the surface so that moisture is unable to intrude walls.

As a flexible high build coating, the E64 has an elongation up to 400%. Additionally, It utilizes a revolutionary ceramic sphere technology that adds an insulating and stain resistance value. Above all, the E64 offers long-lasting protection, ensuring a structure remains beautiful, protected and waterproof for years to come.

Available in 1 Gallon & 5 gallon containers, the E64 comes in ready to use white and pre-tinted in any of 800+ colors found here: E64 Color Fan Deck. To specify your selected color, please enter the Color Name AND Number in the NOTES section at bottom of CHECKOUT page.

The E64 is a single coat product applied at 90-100 square feet/gallon or 8.28 mils DFT (dry film thickness).

Primer:  Recommend the 7075 Acrylic Primer for superior adhesion, 2 hour recoat and excellent water resistance.  NOTE: Applied primer which as been exposed to dirt, dust, salt air, or chemical environments must be washed down and re-primed before the top coat is applied.

Topcoat: None required. Can apply multiple coats of the E64.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE APPLICATION STEPS

Surface Preparation:

Cleaning and General Preparation: Loose or peeling coatings must be removed by high pressure water blasting or other appropriate means. Remove all loose or defective concrete or masonry and any surface contaminates such as dirt, oils, mildew, chalk and efflorescence which may adversely affect product adhesion and performance.

Priming:

All surfaces should be primed with Rain Shield #6475 Acrylic Exterior Primer which contains ceramic spheres and special
additives to insure maximum adhesion of the coating system. NOTE: Applied primer which as been exposed to dirt, dust, salt air,
or chemical environments must be washed down and re-primed before the top coat is applied.

Application Instructions:

Apply by brush, roller or spray. MIX THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO USE. For best mixing results, recommend a Jiffy style drill mixer. Spray application: Use heavy duty conventional airless pump with minimum rating of 1500 P.S.I. with a .021 spray tip

Drying Time:

Dries to touch in two hours, recoat overnight. Drying time will vary depending upon temperature, humidity and film thickness. Do not apply under visible wet conditions.

Limitations:

Do not apply over mildew Not recommended for below grade (NOTE: Retaining walls, planter boxes etc. must be waterproofed on the backside with a below grade waterproofing type material prior to back filling). Not recommended for application to frost covered surfaces. Not recommended for application if rain is expected within 24 hours. Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expects to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period or when fog or rain is in the 24 hour forecast.

Joint and Large Crack Treatment:

Perimeter joints between unlike materials such as around doors, windows, vents, etc. and active joints such as curtain wall joints, expansion and control joints must be caulked and filled with an authorized elastomeric caulk carefully following the manufacturer’s
specifications.

Efflorescence:

Must be removed by using Restore-N-Prep  OR by washing with a 10% Muriatic Acid Solution.

Mildew:

Mildew is a fungus, brown, black, grey or white in color which will rapidly grow through any coating applied over it. A solution of
50% household bleach and 50% water will kill the mildew. Rinse thoroughly. See precautions on bleach label before using.

Clean Up:

Clean tools and hands with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

Thinning:

SPRAY APPLICATION: DO NOT THIN!!!

Maintenance:

Rain Shield systems are designed to be waterproof and can be water blasted to remove any dirt that may have accumulated on the surface over several years. Stubborn stains can be brushed to loosen the dirt before washing.

Safety, Health & Environmental Recommendations:

Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Consult label or material safety data sheet available in the Document Library.
