Garage Makeover With Full Flake Epoxy / Polyaspartic Coating System
DESCRIPTION
Contractor looking for easy to use one day application, commercial grade epoxy system to protect and decorate a customers’ garage chose a great looking system from Floorguard Products.
The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a diamond grinder and then pressure washed.
They applied one coat of the HyperPRIME Primer which can be recoated in about 1 hour after application (when doing a full flake broadcast at 70F or higher) Then the HyperFLEX 100% solids Epoxy was applied and into it 80 lbs of Tuxedo color flakes to full refusal (wet epoxy becomes dry). The HyperFLEX can be recoated in 2 hours and when a full flake broadcast is done can recoat in only 1 hour. The fast set Aspartic 85 was applied as a final clear topcoat. For additional anti slip protection our SSR-20 Polybeads were added to the Aspartic 85 at the rate of 3 tablespoons per gallon while mixing parts A and B.

HyperPRIME Primer – Primer in medium gray color, used 2.5 gallons
HyperFLEX Clear Epoxy 100% Solids: Basecoat epoxy applied at 120 sq’/gallon or 6 gallons
Black E-Poly Pigment: Pigment mixed into HyperFLEX at rate of 2 oz per gallon
Tuxedo Color 1/4″ Vinyl Flakes: Full broadcast to refusal (until epoxy becomes dry with flakes) 80 lbs used
Fast Set Clear Aspartic 85 Polyaspartic : Clear topcoat 4 gallons for additional abrasion, impact & chemical resistance applied at 180 sq’/gallon
SSR-20 Anti-Slip Additive – Mixed 3 heaping tablespoons per gallon 50 grit polybeads into the Aspartic 85 topcoat for anti-slip protection
