E1409CL Moisture Vapor Barrier Epoxy Sealer Primer

E1409CL Moisture Vapor Barrier Epoxy Sealer Primer is a two component 100% solids epoxy seal coat primer for use on horizontal concrete floors that can help control moisture vapor emission rates up to 20 lb/24hr/1000 sq’ (ASTM F1869), prior to application to protect Vinyl sheets, Tiles, Cementitious overlays, Terrazo, Wood veneers, Carpet or polymeric coating systems.   E1409CL meets the ASTM F3010 product requirements for vapor permeance at the recommended thickness. The Moisture Vapor Barrier Epoxy can help alleviate some of the issues associated with moisture vapor in concrete.

Easy to apply, in most situations one coat applied at 94 sq’/gallon will do the job. Not meant to be a stand alone product.  Use of the E1409CL requires proper prepation, typically using a concrete diamond grinder, to provide a 2-3 mil profile and rough up the surface so it feels like a 60 to 100 grit sandpaper as well as remove any old coating.

For addtional protection can use the CMW 8000 Liquid Moisture Vapor Barrier after concrete floor preparation and before application of the E1409CL. The CMW 8000 chemically bonds with the concrete deep below the surface to form a growing crystalline gel that fills many of the micro-voids and helps reduce hydraulic vapor pressure. The application of the CMW 8000 will in no way interfere with the E1409CL but rather enhances the overally system of protection by lowering the vapor pressure prior to applying the E1409CL and final application of a coating system or resiliant flooring.

Available in 1.5 gallon, 3 gallon and 15 gallon kits.
