QUARTZ GRANULE FULL BROADCAST EPOXY FLOOR COATING
DESCRIPTION
Homeowner building new vacation house wanted floor coating for their garage that also serves double duty as walkway from pool to inside the house. They wanted a nice looking decorative floor coating that was exceptionally tough and durable for storing vehicles and yet slip resistant for people walking on it with wet feet. They selected the Flooguard Products’ quartz granule system. Quartz Granules are Brilliantly Color-Coated With A Superior Resin System And High-Quality Colorfast Pigments To Provide Optimal Durability And Extreme Performance In The Most Demanding Environments
Floor preparation included a concrete (diamond) grinding to rough up the surface which is key to good adhesion even on new concrete. They first applied the HyperREZ 100% solids UV Resistant Epoxy and while wet, did a full 100% broadcast of quartz granules to refusal. They then waited 15-20 minutes and any areas that still looked wet, broadcast additional quartz granules.
They came back the next day and applied 2 clear topcoats of the Aspartic 85 Go Slow Polyaspartic. The Aspartic 85 provides additional protection to the quartz granules as well as excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. Although a quartz granule system has excellent anti-slip protection, just to make sure it had plenty of slip resistance, they mixed the SSR-20 Anti-Slip Polybeads into the Aspartic 85 while mixing Parts A and B. The SSR-20 polybeads are lightweight and the least aggressive aggregate for anti-slip protection with minimal impact on appearance.

Aspartic 85 Go Slow Polyaspartic : Clear topcoat for additional abrasion & chemcial resistance. 2 coats applied, coat one at 150 sq’/gallon and coat two at 200 sq’/gallon
SSR-20 : Anti slip polybead additive
