FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE APPLICATION STEPS

The most efficient and easiest application method is using a hand pump or airless sprayer.  For smaller projects or ones where overspray is not allowed, use a roller.  For the smallest projects such as protecting a sign, a brush is an option. Do a rough measurement of how far each gallon or 5 gallon pail should go per coat and then make sure you are applying at that coverage rate.

Using spray equipment, apply VANDLGUARD at recommended coverage rates.  Apply in a fine mist, cross- hatched pattern to build up the wet coating. As soon as the entire surface has been coated, immediately repeat process with a second pass. Depending on the porosity of the surface, a light second step may be necessary to complete that coat. If there is a rundown of product, then doing a dry backroll will smooth out the rundown and avoid the possibility of white streaks showing up after drying.  The next coat can be applied when the product becomes completely clear, usually in 1 – 2 hours depending on temperature and humidity.

Clean equipment with soap and water when finished.

GRAFFITI REMOVAL:
In many instances, non-abrasive household cleaners safely and effectively remove tagging. However, in the event tagging can’t be removed with these cleaners, then use Rainguard’s VANDLCLEAN SUPER GRAFFITI REMOVER for best results. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations and instructions for use. In addition, warm water power-washing has also been known to assist in the removal of tagging. Please refer to the manufacturer for additional assistance.

PRECAUTIONS & LIMITATIONS
1. All surfaces to be coated should be clean of any dirt and grime, efflorescence, lime run, form oils and release agents, grease, mud, excess mortar, and mold and mildew, etc.
2. All cracks should be pointed or caulked. All voids, bee holes, masonry surface defects and openings such as conduits, pipes, drains, door frames, vents, air conditioner openings, electrical openings, control joints, or any dissimilar materials should be repaired using urethane or other approved patching.

Painted Surfaces
Allow newly-painted and stucco surfaces to fully chemically cure before application of VANDLGUARD. Recent formulations of pigmented paints, coatings, and integrally-colored stucco colorant additives contain biocides. These biocides must be released be-fore application of VANDLGUARD. Please consult the manufacturer of the paint/stucco coating to determine the chemical curing period. Rainguard is not responsible for yellowing or color differences as a result of application of the VANDLGUARD over un-cured paint or integrally-colored stucco surfaces.
