Commercial Dining Room Enhanced with Natural Mica Flakes, HyperFLEX Epoxy and Aspartic 100 Polyaspartic
DESCRIPTION
Commercial location in Virginia wanted to let their dining room shine with an Epoxy System enhanced with Natural Mica Flakes. Natural Mica flakes add a unique natural metallic luster from naturally occurring Mica Silicate Minerals.
Before beginning the project, the team ensured the concrete was properly prepared with a concrete diamond grinder ensuring the feel is 60-80 grit sandpaper. They then applied 10 gallons of the CMW 8000 Lithium Moisture Vapor Barrier which penetrates deep into the concrete and reduces hydrostatic vapor pressure as well densifies and helps to stop efflorscence.
Next step included applying 5 gallons of the H20 HyperPRIME Epoxy in Medium Gray to the floor. The H20 HyperPRIME provides excellent substrate penetration and is great for concrete, wood and metal surfaces. From there, 2 quarts of the Black E-Poly Pigment were mixed into the 14 gallons of HyperFLEX Epoxy. This was then applied onto the floor. While the epoxy was still wet, the Natural Mica Flakes were then applied.
To finish, 1 lb of Aluminum Oxide was mixed into 18 gallons of the Aspartic 100 to finish top coating the floor. The Aspartic 100 offers a tough, durable topcoat and the Aluminum Oxide provided anti-slip resistance for a final finish.
