MACHINE SHOP PROTECTED WITH EPOXY/POLYASPARTIC
DESCRIPTION
Customer looking for commercial grade epoxy system to protect and decorate a new machine shop and office chose a system from ASTC Polymers.
The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a diamond grinder and then pressure washed.
They applied one coat of the 6009 100% solids commercial grade epoxy in a Light Gray color and then broadcast a medium application of 1/4″ vinyl chips/flakes. The project was completed with a topcoat of the 5500-EX (extended set time) Aliphatic Polyaspartic for increased chemical and abrasion resistance. A heavier topcoat of 5500 was applied in the office to produce a beautiful glass like decorative surface.

6009 Epoxy 100% Solids Light Gray Color: Basecoat applied at 165 sq’/gallon (10 mils thick)
Tuxedo 1/4″ Vinyl Chips : Chips applied at rate of 1 lb chips for every 150 sq’. (Medium Broadcast rate)
5500-EX Polyaspartic Clear : Topcoat for additional abrasion & chemical resistance applied at 250 sq’/gallon (5.5 mils thick)
