DESCRIPTION

Homeowner wanted to upgrade porch for long term durability for the outdoor elements and ensure a safe walking environment. To do this, they utilized the 5500-EX Polyaspartic and Silica Sand added into the topcoat.

To start, to ensure the maximum moisture protection of the concrete they started with the CMW 8000. This penetrates deep into the concrete and helps significantly reduce any moisture underneath the concrete surface is eliminated to help prevent potential peeling which can happen outside. With this being an outdoor project and exposure to the rain, this protects future damage to the floor coatings and strengthens the concrete as this is a one time application product. Furthermore, it helps stop efflorescence and concrete dusting as well.

Next, they applied the 5500-EX Polyaspartic pigmented light gray at 100 square foot a gallon. During application of the 5500. silica sand was broadcast into the wet coat. This adds a tough skid resistance and texture profile to the surface without changing physical properties of the coating to ensure a safe walking porch in the event of rain, etc.
