RV Garage Pops With 6009 Epoxy, Full Flake Broadcast and 5500 Polyaspartic
DESCRIPTION
DIY customer was looking to give his multi-bay 1600’ RV garage an eye-popping look, with industrial grade quality and protection. To accomplish this, he went with a 4-part system featuring an epoxy primer, epoxy basecoat, a full broadcast to refusal of vinyl flakes and a clear polyaspartic topcoat.
The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a concrete diamond grinder.
Due to the size of the project, the area was divided in four sections of 400 sq’ each, installing one section at a time. This allowed the two man team to complete the project quickly and efficiently.
They used a 3-step application process:
First, they applied E5015 Primer in a light grey color. E5015 is an excellent option for mitigating the potential for concrete to outgas. Outgassing occurs a small percentage of the time when air bubbles release through the concrete and can cause a coating system to look like a lunar landscape. If this happens it requires significant rework and new material to fix.
Second, they applied our 100% Solids, Commercial Grade 6009 Epoxy with a full broadcast of Orbit Blend Vinyl Chips applied directly to the epoxy while it was still wet.
Finally, they applied a topcoat of our High Solids 5500-EX Clear Polyaspartic to encapsulate the flakes and provide a clear protective topcoat for the system.
