Rustic Barndeminium Shines with Metallic Marbled Epoxy Floor
DESCRIPTION
“Quality products with the best customer service! Took on a huge project and couldn’t have gone it without the customer support provided. Highly recommend the products and the experience you get with this company.” – Bryce S.
Our customer, Bryce, wanted his new, off the grid Barndeminium to feature unique flooring throughout. He accomplished just that with a Metallic system.
Several steps had to be taken prior to installing the final coating system, prepping the floor for application with a Concrete Diamond Grinder to achieve an 80-100 grit sandpaper feel on the surface.
He then used a 5-step application process:
First, he applied two separate Moisture Vapor Barriers: he spray applied the CMW 8000 Liquid Moisture Vapor Barrier and then applied by squeegee and dry backroll the MV 2112 Moisture Vapor Epoxy. Concrete Moisture Vapor Barriers are excellent options in reducing the risk of the moisture causing peeling in areas where there is a concern of high moisture levels as well as concrete outgassing, where tiny air bubbles come up through the concrete (which can ruin the look of a coating system).
Next, he sealed his expansion joints with our 100% Solids E5829 Joint Sealant. Taking this step allowed for a completely seamless floor throughout the project area.
He then applied our 100% Solids, Commercial Grade Quality HyperRez Epoxy. HyperRez is formulated specifically for working with Metallic Epoxy Pigments. To go with the HyperRez, he had 3 separate metallic pigments (Pearl, Twilight and Atlantic Blue) to help create this dazzling floor.
Finally, he applied a clear protective top coat of the 87% Solids 5500-EX Polyaspartic. To add slip resistance, he mixed 3-4 heaping tablespoons of our Anti-Slip Polybeads per every gallon of top coat used.
