Basement Floor Remodeled With 6009 Epoxy and Full Broadcast Chipped Stone Flakes
DESCRIPTION
DIY Customer wanted to redo the floor in his basement and decided on a professional quality epoxy, Chipped Stone flake broadcast and polyaspartic coating system.
The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a concrete diamond grinder so that the floor felt like 80-100 grit sandpaper.
They used a 2-step application process:
First, they applied 3 gallons of 100% solids commercial grade 6009 Epoxy in Light Grey color at 85’ per gallon (19 mils thick) and broadcast 30lbs of ¼” Pumice Blend Chipped Stone Flakes into the 6009 while it was wet right after application, resulting in a full broadcast to refusal.
The final step was completed 5 hours later with a clear high solids commercial grade Polyaspartic high gloss topcoat consisting of 2 gallons of the 5500-EX at 125’ per gallon (11 mils thick) with Anti-Slip Polybeads mixed into the Polyaspartic.
