VANDLGUARD TWO PART PREMIUM URETHANE ANTI-GRAFFITI COATING

VandlGuard Two Part Urethane is a super premium quick cure, tough clear, two component, water based, low voc anti-graffiti coating offering long lasting performance up to 60 graffiti removals. Using the included urethane quick cure and performance additive, it offers excellent graffiti, UV, chemical and stain resistance only 24 hours after application vs most other products.   It has excellent penetration and adhesion to concrete, porous brick & unglazed tile and most types of decorative acrylic concrete coatings and can be applied in low temperatures down to down to 40°F.

VandlGuard Two Part Urethane is a great choice for a wide range of commercial and residential projects and especially well suited for murals and other high value and important surfaces where the cost of graffiti in terms of both visual impact and financial cost is high.  For high crime areas, quick cure means graffiti can be safely removed without damage to the coating in only 24 hours after application of VandlGuard Two Part Urethane.

VandlGuard Two Part Urethane comes in matte finish, satin and a high gloss option in 1 and 5 gallon containers.

The Quick Cure and Performance Additive Comes in 2 oz (mixed with 1 gallon VandlGuard) and 10 oz (mixed with 5 gallons VandlGuard) containers and is mixed into the base material right before application. For 5 year warrantied protection requires only 1 coat application with up to 30 graffiti removals and for 10 year warrantied protection only 2 coats for up to 60 graffiti removals.  This saves 50% in labor costs over other 2 coat 5 year and 33% over other 3 coat 10 year system

Like most other anti-graffiti coatings, requires use of a sealer on porous, unpainted surfaces.  Rainguard recommends using the Micro-seal Water Repellent/Sealer.  For unpainted ferrous metal surfaces, requires initial application of metal primer. Rainguard offers a trio of premium anti graffiti options when the project requires the best available protection even in low temperature conditions down to 40°F.  Choose which option meets your protection requirements.  None of the VandlGuard anti-graffiti coatings containing urethane will gum up your spray equipment like other urethane graffiti coatings on the market.

Easy to use and easy to clean-up, VandlGuard offers the best in urethane based graffiti protection.

MIXING AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

PRODUCT STORAGE: The recommended storage temperature is approximately 22 °C (72 °F). Do not damage containers. Store in a dry place. Do not store for extended periods in direct sunlight. Protect containers from resin and moisture contamination.

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces to be coated should be clean of any dirt and grim, efflorescence, lime run, form oils, release agents, grease, mud, excess mortar, mold and mildew, etc. All cracks should be pointed or caulked. All voids, bee holes, masonry surface defects and openings, such as conduits, pipes, drains, door frames, vents, air conditioner opening, electrical opening, control joints, or any dissimilar materials should be repaired using urethane or other approved patching. If an acid etch or an acid stain has been applied to the surface, it must be thoroughly flushed to remove all residue and then allow to dry.

PRODUCT MIXING: Improper mixing may result in product failure.  Add 2 ounces of Urethane Quick Cure Performance Additive per Gallon to thin material for better absorption, increased coverage, and to minimize bubbling. Increase pot life, chemical resistance, impact resistance, chip resistance, UV protection and reduce cure times. Mix well 5-10 minutes. Do not shake.  Too vigorous mixing can introduce air bubbles and cause a cratered look on the coating surface.

PRODUCT APPLICATION: IMPORTANT: Proper methods to protect from over spraying should be implemented. Atomized particles will adhere to most surfaces and are extremely difficult to remove.  Temperature and humidity directly affect pot life and dry time. Conditions should be between 40 – 95 °F (5 – 35 °C) and humidity should not exceed 80%. Apply using airless spray equipment, rolling, or brushing. Apply VandlGuard® Two-Part as the recommended coverage rates. If spraying apply in a fine mist, cross-hatched pattern to build up the wet coating. As soon as the entire surface has been coated, immediately repeat the process with a second pass.  After 2 hours, you can apply a second coat with the same application method above.

Smooth Painted Surfaces Apply two coats of  VandlGuard Two-Part Urethane Clear Coat over high quality exterior paint systems for graffiti resistance. Unpainted Porous Surfaces

  • For unpainted porous surfaces, use Micro-seal Water Repellent/Sealer prior to application of VandlGuard Two Part Urethane.
  • Any runs should be brushed our rolled out immediately before drying

CLEANUP: Uncured material can be removed with a water. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. All empty  containers must be disposed of according to local, state, and federal regulations.

GRAFFITI REMOVAL: Attend to any graffiti as soon as possible. The longer graffiti sits unattended, the harder removal becomes. Within the first couple of days a power wash will remove the graffiti. After that, VandlClean® Super Graffiti Remover may be required to completely remove graffiti. In the event VandlClean® Super is needed, spray graffiti with VandlClean® Super, allow to sit for several seconds and follow up with a power wash to remove. Repeat as necessary. Depending on graffiti intensity, more than one pass may be necessary.

LIMITATIONS

  • VandlGuard Two Part Urethane should be tested on all substrates before complete application to determine acceptable color, surface porosity, application rates and methods before starting general application
  • Do not apply unless temperature is 5°F above the dew point or if rain is expected within 24 hours.
  • Should not be applied in high wind, rain or when the ambient temperature is below 5 °C (40 °F) or above 100°F.
  • Certain porous surfaces may require sealer or block filler to allow the VandlGuard Two Part Urethane to create a more desirable application and maintain the integrity of the surface.
  • Do not apply on damp or moist surface as it will whiten and may cause delamination.
  • Do not allow any Rainguard products to freeze.
  • Do NOT overapply.  More is NOT better.  A heavier application can cause micro blistering and affect the finish
  • Physical properties are typical values and not specifications.
