Garage Enhanced with Heavy Broadcast Flakes and 5500 Polyaspartic
DESCRIPTION
Customer in Centennial, Colorado wanted to redecorate 400 sq’ garage with colored vinyl flakes. To achieve this goal, they decided to install a decorative epoxy system utilizing a heavy flake broadcast.
The concrete was thoroughly prepared prior to beginning the project using a concrete diamond grinder to rough up the concrete until the surface had a feel of 60-100 grit sandpaper. They also ensured all random cracks and holes in the concrete were prepared.
To start, they applied 2 gallons of the 7001 Polyurethane Primer on both the horizontal and vertical surfaces. Next, 4 gallons of the 5500 Polyaspartic basecoat in Leather Tan was applied . While the polyaspartic was still wet, they applied 1/4″ of Deep Brown vinyl flakes for a heavy broadcast where you see mostly flakes but some floor coating.
Finally, 4 gallons of the 5500 Polyaspartic Clear was applied as a topcoat to ensure protection over the project.
