Auto Shop Renovation Using Light Broadcast of Flakes, 6009 Epoxy and 5500 HS Polyaspartic
DESCRIPTION
An auto shop in Nevada wanted to renovate and upgrade their automotive garage using a light broadcast of Orbit Blend Flakes. Before starting, they ensured the concrete was fully prepared using a concrete diamond grinder to get to a 60-80 grit sandpaper feel. This step is important before as it allows best adhesion and performance of the epoxy system.
Next, the 6009 was applied approximately 138 sq’ ft gallon onto the floor in a light gray color. While the epoxy was still wet, the Orbit Vinyl Flakes were lightly broadcasted into the epoxy. This allowed for some flakes to show while still showing the gray epoxy underneath.
Finally, the 5500-HS Polyaspartic was used as a topcoat at roughly 208 sq’ ft a gallon. The 5500-HS provides a beautiful clear and high gloss appearance. It also provides outstanding chemical and abrasive resistance.
