United States Department of Defense Uses E650 Non-Skid Epoxy on Maritime Ship Decks Meeting Mil-PRF-24667B
DESCRIPTION
The E650 is a military grade Non-Skid Epoxy that provides heavy duty anti-slip resistance to provide a safer walking surface on concrete and steel surfaces. It is designed for use in wet areas and meets US Navy Military Specification Mil-PRF-24667B for Non-Skid Deck Coatings. In recent years, it has become more and more popular for use on various naval decks and helipads. It has also been used in a wide variety of industrial and commercial projects where there is a need to provide a safer walking surface in wet conditions.
The E650 Non-Skid Epoxy is resistant to grease, oil, salt water, alcohol, detergent, gasoline, and hydraulic fluid and can be easily applied with a phenolic core roller, flat squeegee or trowel. It is available in regular cure and low temperature cure down to 25F. When applied to properly prepared bare steel, the E15M is used as a high performance, rust resistant epoxy primer before application of the E650 Non-Skid Epoxy.
This picture gallery features several DOD (department of defense) vessels that have successfully used the E650 Non-Skid Epoxy. USCG (United States Coast Guard) vessels have used it as a non-skid coating on their helicopter flight decks (helipads) and forecastle areas and the US Navy has used it on Naval patrol boats to provide a non-skid surface on the steel decking.
