Louisiana Department of Public Safety Uses E650 Non-Skid Epoxy to Protect Wood Ramp on Motorcycle Trailer
DESCRIPTION
The Louisiana Department of Public Safety offers a Motorcycle Safety, Awareness and Operator Training Program. As part of this program, they take several trailers loaded with motorcycles to different sites around the state to teach their courses.
Given the amount of traffic coming on and off each trailer, many times in wet conditions, and the need to protect the people as well as the motorcycles while moving them on and off the trailer, it was decided that an industrial grade slip resistant coating should be added to the dropdown wood ramp. They turned to our E650 Non-Skid Epoxy to accomplish this need.
The E650 is a military grade non-skid epoxy that meets US Navy Military Specification Mil-PRF-24667B Non-Skid Deck Coating requirements for safe co-efficient of friction (COF) as well as ADA and OSHA anti-slip protection guidelines when properly applied.
After sanding the dropdown wood ramp to open up the pores and ensure adhesion, they applied one gallon of the E650 Epoxy to each 30 square foot ramp with a 3/16” notched trowel. They used a bright Safety Yellow color in order to maximize visibility of the ramp and prevent slips, trips and falls.
**When applying to a wood surface, using a primer like the E5015 Epoxy Primer is always recommended.**
