Bitumen Condominium Roof Protected by E8875 Underseal Water Proofer and E8840 Heat Reflective Coating

A Commercial Property owner wanted to protect their oceanside condominium’s flat bitumen roof by water proofing and providing heat reflection to the roof.  To ensure the best protection of the roof, a complete removal of the old coating system and repair work was done prior to adding the new system.

To begin, 2 coats of the E8876 Underseal Water Proofer (pigmented black) at 100 sq’ gallon. The E8875 creates a water barrier providing a waterproof roof system. It is UV Resistant, flexible at low temperatures and resistant to both ponding water and cracking.

Secondly, the E8875 was top coated with the E8840 Heat Reflective Roof Coating. This is an energy saving waterproofing system and was applied in 2 coats at 100 sq’ gallon. The benefits of using the E8840 over the E8875 are that it creates a waterproofing system, resists ponding water and can help extend the roof’s life. It also can save up to 30% in energy expenditures.
