Metallics Epoxy Upgrades Garage using E707LVP Primer, HyperREZ Epoxy and E322HW Urethane Topcoat
DESCRIPTION
Homeowner wanted to upgrade garage to an epoxy system pigmented with metallics. This provided a unique and beautiful design while protecting the garage floor. To begin, they made sure they ran a concrete diamond grinder over the concrete to get it to feel like 60-80 grit sandpaper.
After preparing the concrete, the E707LVP high solids primer in black at approximately 133 sq ft. The black basecoat serves a very important role in determining how the metallic pigments will come across and preventing the color of the concrete from “telescoping” through the metallic pigments.
Next, they applied a thick metallics layer for maximum 3-d affect. Into the HyperREZ clear epoxy 4oz Sangria, 16oz Pearl and 16oz of Twilight.
Finally, they applied a protective topcoat of 1.5 gallons of the E322 HW High Gloss Aliphatic Urethane. The reason for a topcoat is to protect the system from any impacts and abrasion that may be caused from foot traffic.
