5500-EX Polyaspartic Gives Basement a Bold New Look
DESCRIPTION
A homeowner in Woodland Park, Colorado wanted to spruce up and protect their basement area with a fresh, new looking floor. After thoroughly researching products, they decided to go with a coat of our pigmented 87% Solids 5500-EX Polyaspartic Coating.
Prior to beginning the application, the concrete had to be thoroughly prepped. This is done by using a Concrete Diamond Grinder to abrade the surface. The goal is to get the concrete’s surface to feel like 80-100 grit sandpaper. Proper preparation helps to ensure that the coatings will successfully adhere to the concrete and prevent peeling issues in the future.
Next, they applied 2 gallons of our 5500-EX Polyaspartic with 24 oz of Wheat Pigment added to it. The product was applied at approximately 138’ per gallon to achieve 10 mils (dry film thickness) of protection.
