Metal Pressing Facility Protects Warehouse Floor With 6009 Epoxy
DESCRIPTION
An industrial metal pressing facility in Lawrenceburg, TN was looking to protect their warehouse floor subject to high forklift and pallet jack traffic. Since there were areas designated strictly for traffic and others designated as work areas, they wanted a product that was tough, durable and good looking available in two different colors.
The product chosen was our 100% Solids Commercial Grade 6009 Epoxy. The 6009 is a tough, attractive epoxy that offers excellent chemical, abrasion, and impact resistance. It is an excellent product for use on commercial, industrial and residential concrete floors.
The floor was thoroughly prepped prior to application. That involves using a Concrete Diamond Grinder on the surface to abrade it to a feel of 60-100 grit sandpaper. The purpose in prepping the concrete is to ensure that the coating properly adheres to it, and therefore, doesn’t peel after application.
Next, 15 gallons of 6009 Epoxy in Light Grey was applied to the designated work areas. Following that, another 15 gallons of 6009 Clear was applied to the designated traffic areas.
