Power Plant Recoated with Tower-Gard E568 After Fire
DESCRIPTION
A fire in a power generation facility caused extensive surface damage to structural steel components, storage tanks and concrete surfaces. The affected area required a complete recoat with minim al surface preparation to the facility. Key Challenges included:
- Damaged and uneven substrate conditions
- Limited Ventilation
- Requirement for an odor-free product due to nearby occupied areas
- Aesthetic expectations for a uniform, custom- color finish
Tower-Gard E568 was selected for its surface tolerance, ease of application, and solvent-free, low-odor formulation. Its built-in corrosion inhibitors made it ideal for protecting fire-exposed steel from long-term deterioration. Multiple custom colors were used to meet the client’s visual expectations.

The product’s excellent workability allowed for rapid application, even on irregular and partially prepared surfaces. No specialized ventilation was needed due to its zero-VOC formulation.
The coating was fully cured and returned to service within 24 hours. The client reported:
- Zero odor complaints during or after installation
- Fast project turnaround minimizing man hours
- Enhanced corrosion resistance on fire-damaged surfaces
- Clean, attractive finish in the specified custom colors
Tower-Gard E568 delivered both performance and presentation, restoring critical infrastructure quickly and reliably.
