Personal Workshop Spruced Up with 6009 Epoxy, Vinyl Flakes and 5500 Polyaspartic
DESCRIPTION
A DIY customer in Elizabeth City, North Carolina wanted to give his garage/work shop an eye popping look. To do so, he went with our 100% Solids 6009 Epoxy, 20lbs of our Vinyl Flakes, and our 87% Solids 5500 Polyaspartic.
The concrete was thoroughly prepped prior to beginning the application. In this case, that entailed using a Concrete Diamond Grinder on the surface to get a 60-100 grit feel on the surface. Abrading the concrete surface in this fashion ensures that the coatings will properly adhere to the surface.
Next, he applied 6 gallons of the industrial grade, 100% solids 6009 Epoxy in a light gray color. While the epoxy was still wet, he hand broadcast 20lbs of a Custom Blend of Vinyl Flakes into the epoxy to achieve a medium broadcast.
Finally, he encapsulated the flakes with a topcoat of our protective, clear 5500 Polyaspartic. The 5500 is an excellent industrial grade topcoat that works in a wide variety of applications.
