New Garage Floor Decorated With Dramatic Ford Blue DT-454 Epoxy & Dream Blue Flakes
DESCRIPTION
Customer looking to dress up and decorate newly built 864 sq’ concrete garage floor decided on a professional quality epoxy, decorative flake and polyaspartic coating system
The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a diamond grinder and then pressure washed.
They used a 3 step application process.
First applied the E5015 Epoxy Primer in a blue color at 3 mil thick (288 sq’/gallon). Used blue color to match DT-454 Epoxy Basecoat applied over it. The E5015 Epoxy is a penetrating primer designed to help reduce the chance of problems from concrete outgassing by locking in the release of air (outgassing is the release of air from concrete which causes bubbles in epoxy while it is wet and curing).
Then they applied one coat of DT-454 100% solids commercial grade epoxy in a beautiful Ford Blue color at 145 sq’/gallon (11 mils thick) and broadcast 20 lbs of 1/4″ Dream Blue colored vinyl flakes into the DT-454 while it was wet right after application.
The final step was completed 10 hours later with a clear Polyaspartic high gloss topcoat of the 5500-EX applied at 215 sq’/gallon or 6.5 mils.
