Long-Lasting Residential Garage Floor System Featuring E1850 Epoxy Base & E1900 Polyaspartic & Decorative Full Flakes
DESCRIPTION
Residential homeowner wanted to upgrade garage but wanted to ensure he had both a decorative floor as well as a long lasting system. After reaching out to Exterior Performance Coatings, he turned to the E1850 Epoxy and E1900 Polyaspartic to ensure he had professional grade products that provided strong impact and long term durability. The decorative flakes he choose in Baboon FB -964 which holds a variety of browns & creams to match his tan walls in the garage.
Before application, the concrete floor was thoroughly prepared. To ensure the floor was ready a concrete diamond grinder was used to rough up the concrete until the surface had the feel of 60-100 grit sandpaper.
After preparations, the epoxy was mixed using a Jiffy style drill mixer to ensure consistent color across the floor without streets. Next, the E1850 epoxy in Light Gray was then applied at 130 sq ft per gallon with a flat floor squeegee. While the epoxy was still wet, they applied the Baboon Vinyl Flakes 1/4″ to refusal, giving them a full flake broadcast where you only see the flakes.
Before application of the E1900 polyaspartic, the excess flakes were scrapped off using a heavy duty floor scraper. Finally, to ensure a long lasting system they applied the E1900 polyaspartic topcoat at 130 sq ft a gallon. The E1900 Polyaspartic provides protection of the flakes , the underlying surface while additionally providing UV protection (will not yellow in the sunlight).
