Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand Provides Starry Beauty, Safety to Decorative Epoxy System

DESCRIPTION

Customer in Larkspur, California wanted the 400 square foot garage in their newly purchased home to wow visitors both during the day and at night. After consulting with Exterior Performance design experts, an ingenious plan of attack was devised: they would install a standard high performance epoxy system in a beautiful Ford Blue color. On the topcoat, they would broadcast Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand. This sand, while having a minimal visual impact during the day, provides 8+ hours of continuous glow at night.

The concrete floor was thoroughly prepared prior to application of product. The floor was prepped with a concrete diamond grinder so floor felt like a 60 to 100 grit sandpaper, pressure washed and vacuumed. This step is essential in ensuring that the coatings will properly adhere to the concrete.

They applied one 3 gallon coat of the HyperREZ 100% solids Epoxy in a beautiful Ford Blue color. Then, they installed a topcoat of 2 gallons 5500-Ex Clear Polyaspartic (to add even more slip resistant texture, then mixed into the 5500 Polyaspartic 8 tablespoons of our Anti-Slip Polybeads).

While the 5500-EX topcoat was still wet, they broadcast 1 kilograms (2.2 lbs) of our Green Glow Anti-Slip Sand over the entire surface. The chosen broadcast method was to feed the sand into a leaf blower to allow for clean and even dispersal over the entire surface and then dry backroll to make sure the Green Glow is fully encapsulated by the 5500-Ex Polyaspartic.

The end result was a beautiful Ford Blue Garage Floor during the day, and a gorgeous Northern Lights-Like appearance at night (and one very happy customer!)
