Industrial Fiberglass Tank Repair Kit | Quick Cure Composite Patch System
The Fiberglass Repair Patch Kit is a complete, industrial-grade repair system designed to quickly seal leaks, repair holes and restore damaged surfaces. Each Kit includes everything needed to complete a durable 12″ x 12″ reinforced fiberglass patch, including high-build repair putty, an adhesive primer, fiberglass reinforcement, a saturating resin and chemical-resistant epoxy topcoat.
The quick-curing components allow most repairs to be completed in less than one hour, making it an ideal solution for storage tanks, process vessels, industrial equipment, and other maintenance applications where minimizing downtime is critical.
The repair process begins by filling and sealing the damaged area with a high-build epoxy putty before applying a quick-cure primer that creates an ideal bonding surface for the fiberglass reinforcement. The fiberglass is saturated with epoxy resin to create a strong composite repair, then sealed with a chemical-resistant epoxy topcoat that protects the repair from corrosion, moisture, and harsh industrial environments. The result is a durable, long-lasting repair system that helps extend the service life of critical equipment.

Each box contains enough material to apply a 12″ x 12″ fiberglass repaired patch area
At 77F primer will take roughly 20 minutes to cure
Product Use Instructions
Surface Preparation
Damaged surface with multiple through holes. Solvent wipe and sand a 14”x14” area with hand or mechanical tools. Create a rough, clean profile for the repair. If active leak, clean and wipe surface to remove rust, debris, etc. to expose the original surface. Sand to create a rough profile
Putty
Measure and use equal volumes of putty part A and B that will fill the damaged hole and have enough extra to be smoothed out to the surroundingarea.
Wearing gloves, mash the part A and B together in your hands until a uniform color has been achieved. Immediately press mixed putty into and around the hole, pressing firmly into the surface to work into the prepared area.
On active leaks, additional force may be needed to keep the putty in place and resist the leak. The putty can be placed onto a plastic sheet, metal plate, or the inside of the cap used for the putty jar. Using this backing, press the putty into the hole and active leak and hold for several minutes until the
putty has become firm. Small leaks may still be present coming out the side of the putty. Continue to use material until the leak has been completely stopped.
Primer
Mix part A and B of the primer until a uniform color has been achieved. Immediately brush on to the prepared/sanded surface.
Allow to cure until gummy before proceeding. At 77F, this will take roughly 20 minutes. If outdoors or in hotter temperatures, this may take 10-15 minutes.
Fiberglass Saturation
Mix the part A and B saturating resin in the container provided. Stir for about 1 minute until all material is thoroughly mixed. Scrape the walls and bottom of the can to make sure no unmixed material has been missed.
Pour mixed resin into the fiberglass bag. Using the plastic trowel, spread resin onto fiberglass and work in. It may be necessary to flip the bag over and apply some resin to this side as well.
After working in, the fiberglass should look clear and wet with no white, dry patches remaining. Squeegee out extra resin back into the mixing cup and discard.
Fiberglass Placement
Confirmed the primer is tacky, remove saturated fiberglass from the bag. This can be done by rolling down the bag over the fiberglass until it can be pulled out or by cutting open the bag and removing. Place the saturated fiberglass patch over the primed area. Starting from the middle, push out any air bubbles that may be trapped under the fiberglass. The patch should be touching the primer in all areas by the end of the application.
Keep working material onto the surface and removing air bubbles until completely applied. The edges can be smoothed together with the primer so no sharp lip is visible. During this phase, the primer and saturating resin may be getting hot. This means the material is curing and will soon harden.
Topcoat
Mix part A and B of the topcoat until a uniform color has been achieved. Immediately brush on to the prepared/sanded surface.
Paint over the entire application, not extending onto the unprepared surface. This will protect
the fiberglass repair and make smooth, chemical resistant final coat.

What can the Fiberglass Repair Patch Kit be used for?
The Fiberglass Repair Patch Kit is designed to repair small leaks, holes, dents, and damaged areas. It is commonly used on storage tanks, process vessels, industrial equipment, and other structures requiring a durable composite repair.
What is included in the repair kit?
Each kit contains everything needed to complete one reinforced 12″ × 12″ repair, including:
- High-build epoxy putty
- Quick-cure adhesive primer
- Four layers of fiberglass reinforcement
- Quick-cure saturating resin
- Chemical-resistant epoxy topcoat
How large of an area will one kit repair?
Each kit is designed to complete one reinforced fiberglass patch measuring approximately 12 inches by 12 inches. Larger repairs can be completed using multiple kits or by contacting us for larger repair solutions.
Does the finished repair resist chemicals and corrosion?
Yes. After the fiberglass reinforcement has cured, the repair is sealed with a chemical-resistant epoxy topcoat that helps protect the repaired area from corrosion, moisture, and many industrial chemicals while creating a smooth, durable finish.
Can this kit stop active leaks?
Yes. The high-build epoxy putty is designed to be pressed into holes and damaged areas to help stop active leaks before the fiberglass reinforcement is applied. For larger or higher-pressure leaks, additional putty may be required to completely seal the damaged area before proceeding with the repair.
How should the surface be prepared before application?
For the best adhesion, the repair area should be cleaned, free of loose rust, coatings, oil, grease, and debris, then sanded or mechanically prepared to create a clean, rough surface profile before applying the repair system.
Can multiple kits be used for larger repairs?
Yes. Each kit is designed to repair approximately one 12″ × 12″ area. Larger damaged sections can be repaired by using multiple kits or by contacting our technical support team for guidance on larger composite repair projects.
What makes this kit different from a standard fiberglass repair kit?
Unlike many standard fiberglass repair kits, this system includes a complete multi-step repair process with high-build epoxy putty, an adhesive primer, fiberglass reinforcement, a saturating resin, and a chemical-resistant epoxy topcoat. The result is a durable repair designed for industrial equipment, storage tanks, and demanding service environments.
