They can be used on commercial, residential and industrial floor projects. This unique product is random in shape, sized within a standardized range in 6 sizes (1″, 1/2″, 1/4″, 1/8″, 1/16″, 1/32″).

Shown below are 35 blended color combinations. Chips/flakes are broadcast into a colored epoxy, polyurea or polyaspartic base coating.  When the coating is tack free and ready to be re-coated, excess chips are cleaned off surface and one or two coats of a clear topcoat are applied to encapsulate and protect the flakes.  How thick or number of topcoats required depends on the amount of flakes used.  Use more flakes to hide existing surface imperfections and any future stains or scratches that may occur. More flakes will require more clear topcoat to properly cover.

Flakes are sold in 10 lb increments (up to 40 lbs/box).  How much to use depends on look desired.  For a partial broadcast, apply chips at the rate of 1 lb chips per 20 sq’ to 200 sq’ of floor.  For full broadcast to refusal 1 lb chips covers 6-8 sq’ for 1/4″ chips and 5-7 sq’ for 1/8″ chips.  Full broadcast means chips applied so heavy the coating can’t absorb anymore and floor is no longer wet.

Note:  Flake orders are custom made at the time of order placement. Due to this, flake orders are NOT eligible for return. If you are not certain that you will like the selected flakes, please feel free to contact us to arrange a small sample.

Want an Insignia Blend in a size other than 1/4″?    Select the color(s) you want by part number and name, the number of pounds and flake diameter (1″, 1/2″, 1/4″, 1/8″, 1/16″, 1/32″).  Then choose the “CUSTOM COLOR” option in the drop down color selector above, the total number of 10lb units desired.  Enter your Insignia Blend selection and flake size in the NOTES section on bottom of CHECKOUT PAGE.  Special custom blend orders allow 1 extra day to process.
