APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE APPLICATION STEPS

Surface Preparation:

Cleaning and General Preparation: Loose or peeling coatings must be removed by sand or water blasting. All loose or defective concrete or masonry and any surface contaminates such as dirt, oils, mildew, chalk and efflorescence which may adversely affect product adhesion and performance must be removed.

Application Instructions:

Apply by brush, roller or spray. MIX THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO USE. For best mixing results, recommend a Jiffy style drill mixer. CAUTION: Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expected to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period or when fog or rain is anticipated. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

Stucco:

Roll or spray at a rate of 150 to 250 square feet per gallon.

Exterior Plywood (Including T1-11):

A. Seal all edges of panels

B. T1-11 should be brushed primed along the grain. If sprayed, apply liberally and then back roll.

C. Coverage will be approximately 200 square feet per gallon.

Drying Time:

Dries to touch in 30 minutes. Can be sanded in 2 hours.  At 70F and higher temperatures, this product can be recoated after 2 hours.

Stain Blocking:

7075 Primer reduces tannin bleed on most woods and will reduce nail head rust and some light water stains. Important: Water base products contain emulsifiers and coalescents, which continue to evaporate after the product is touch dry.  However, in stain blocking applications, additional curing time will be needed. Do not thin for stain blocking properties. Some stains may require 2 coats of primer.

Water Stains:

7075 Primer contains “stain blocking pigments” and will block out most water stains with one or two coats. When covering stains, remove as much of the stain as possible with paint thinner or TSP solution.

Limitations:

  • Do not apply over mildew
  • Not recommended for below grade (NOTE: Retaining walls, planter boxes etc. must be waterproofed on the backside with a below grade waterproofing type material prior to back filling).
  • Not recommended for application to frost covered surfaces.
  • Not recommended for application if rain is expected within 24 hours.
  • Do not apply when temperatures are below 50°F or expects to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period or when fog or rain is in the 24 hour forecast.

Efflorescence:

Must be removed prior to application of the E6475 Primer.  Suggest using Restore-N-Prep  OR by washing with a 10% Muriatic Acid Solution.

Mildew:

Must be removed prior to application of the E6475 Primer.  Mildew is a fungus, brown, black, grey or white in color which will rapidly grow through any coating applied over it. A solution of 50% household bleach and 50% water will kill the mildew. Rinse thoroughly. See precautions on bleach label before using.

Glossy Surfaces:

Remove gloss by sanding or with a chemical deglosser.

Clean Up:

Clean tools and hands with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

Maintenance:

E6475 is NOT intended to be an exposed surface film.

Safety, Health & Environmental Recommendations:

Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Consult label or material safety data sheet available in the Document Library.
