DIRECTIONS

SURFACE PREPARATION: Loose or peeling coatings must be removed by high pressure water blasting or other appropriate means. Remove all loose or defective concrete or masonry and any surface contaminates such as dirt, oils, mildew, chalk and efflorescence which may adversely affect product adhesion and performance.

JOINT AND LARGE CRACK TREATMENT: Perimeter joints between unlike materials such as around doors, windows, vents, etc. and active joints such as curtain wall joints, expansion and control joints must be caulked and filled with an authorized elasto-meric caulk carefully following the manufacturer’s specifications.

EFFLORESCENCE: Must be removed by washing with a 10% solution muriatic acid.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Clean all surfaces. (See “Surface Preparation”) Remove all loose and peeling paint.

PRIMING: All surfaces should be primed with Rain Shield 6475 Acrylic Exterior Primer which contains ceramic spheres and special additives to insure maximum adhesion of the coating system. NOTE: Applied primer which as been exposed to dirt, dust, salt air, or chemical environments must be washed down and re-primed before the top coat is applied.

APPLICATION: Apply by brush, roller or spray. MIX THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO USE Spray application: Use heavy duty conventional airless pump with minimum rating of 1500 PSI with a .025 spray tip. DO NOT THIN. Thinning may affect performance and violate warranty.

DRY TIME: Dries to touch in two hours, re-coat overnight. Drying time will vary depending upon temperature, humidity and film thickness. Do not apply under visible wet conditions.

MAINTENANCE, STORAGE & HANDLING:

CLEAN-UP: Warm soapy water and clean tools thoroughly. Cool Life Wall Coating systems are designed to be waterproof and can be water blasted to remove any dirt that may have accumulated on the surface over several years. Stubborn stains can be brushed to loosen the dirt before washing.

MILDEW: DO NOT APPLY OVER MILDEW. Mildew is a fungus, brown, black, grey or even white in color, and will rapidly grow through any coating applied over it.

LIMITATIONS:

• Not recommended for below grade (Note: Retaining walls, planter boxes, etc MUST be waterproofed on the backside with a below grade waterproofing type material prior to back filling).
• Not recommended for application to frost covered surfaces,.
• Not recommended for application if rain is expected within 24 hours.
• Do not install any product if the temperature is below 50°For expectation to drop below 40°F within a 24 hour period
• Do not apply late in the day or when dew, rain, fog or mist is likely.

What is E68 Cool Life Wall Coating?

E68 Cool Life is a high-build, low-luster, 100% acrylic latex elastomeric coating designed for exterior wall surfaces. Its heat-reflective technology helps reflect the sun’s infrared rays and reduce surface heat.

Where can E68 Cool Life Wall Coating be used?

E68 can be applied to exterior stucco, masonry, concrete, and properly prepared and primed metal surfaces.

Can E68 be used on roofs, floors, or walking surfaces?

No. E68 is designed specifically for exterior wall surfaces. Roofs, floors, patios, pool decks, balconies, and other walking surfaces require coatings formulated for those applications.

How does E68 help reduce heat?

E68 reflects a portion of the sun’s infrared energy instead of allowing all of that heat to be absorbed by the wall. Actual temperature reduction will depend on the selected color, building construction, climate, sun exposure, and application.

Does the color affect heat reflectivity?

Yes. Lighter colors generally have higher Solar Reflectance Index—or SRI—values and reflect more solar energy than darker colors. Review the E68 Heat Reflective Information chart to compare available colors.

What finish does E68 provide?

E68 produces a low-luster finish that gives exterior walls a clean, attractive appearance without a high-gloss shine.

Does E68 protect against rain?

E68 is formulated to resist wind-driven rain when applied according to the manufacturer’s instructions. However, it should not be used as a substitute for repairing active leaks or structural waterproofing problems.

Can E68 be applied directly to metal?

Metal must be properly cleaned, prepared, and primed with a compatible primer before E68 is applied.

Will E68 completely eliminate heat transfer into a building?

• No coating can eliminate all heat transfer. E68 is designed to reduce solar heat absorption, but results will vary depending on the color, insulation, building design, climate, and amount of direct sunlight.
