E1000 Epoxy Concrete Repair Kit 100% Solids

E1000 Epoxy Concrete Repair Kits are designed to repair, patch (cracks, spalling, potholes) and protect old and new concrete in the most aggressive Industrial and Commercial Environments.  An easy to use concrete repair solution, these kits can also be used to resurface, patch and re-level uneven and irregular surfaces from 1/4″ to 1″ thick.

The E1000 uses a unique 100% Solids nearly odorless Amine Cured Epoxy Resin blended with selected aggregates to produce a chemically resistant, tough, durable mortar.  E1000 is USDA approved for food processing plants.

Available in 5 gallon kit.  Comes in 3 colors:  Clear, Gray and Tile Red.  Each E1000 Epoxy Concrete Repair Kit comes complete with a special silica aggregate and 2 part epoxy and yields approximately 16 sq. ft. @ ¼” thickness.

PRIMER: None required for patching small spalled areas, otherwise recommend E155 Epoxy Primer

TOPCOAT: Most epoxy and urethane topcoats

MIXING AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SURFACE PREPARATION Remove all loose concrete, laitance, efflorescence, dirt, grease, oil, old paint and other foreign matter.  Methods such as abrasive blast, Blastrac, scarifying, scabbling or acid etch/rinse can be used.  Check surface for proper pH reading and porosity level.  Concrete must be clean and structurally sound.

When applying a coating over the E1000, when grinding or sanding is required, it is best to prep the floor surface first  before making your repairs with the E1000.  The E1000 is not designed to be smoothed out mechanically with a grinder or sander.

PRIME COAT For patching small spalled areas, a primer is not necessary.  But for resurfacing and re-leveling and to insure maximum adhesion, a prime coat of E155 Prime Crete Epoxy Damp Concrete Primer should be applied to the concrete substrate by bristly brush or medium nap, phenolic core roller cover.  Spread rate will be approximately 150-250 square feet per mixed gallon depending upon porosity of concrete surface.  Apply E1000 Mortar over primer within 1-4 hours while primer is still tacky.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS The E1000 K10-S2 patch material is prepared by first mixing the 1 pint of E1000 Hardener (Part B) with the ½ gallon of E1000 Base (Part A) in a separate container.  Power agitation is recommended, however, manual stirring may be used if care is taken to accomplish thorough mixing.  Stir for 1-2 minutes until a uniform color is obtained.  Be sure to scrape sides and bottom of container.  Mix catalyzed resin with sand supplied in the 5 gallon container.  Mix material with a slow speed (400-600 RPM) power drill using a dry wall mud mixing blade or Jiffy mixer.  Mix for approximately 3-4 minutes until a uniform blend is achieved.  For large batches, use paddle type mortar mixer. Improper mixing may result in product failure.

For best mixing results and proper blending of parts A and B, recommend a Jiffy Mixer style drill mixer.

APPLICATION Once mixed, immediately put the E1000 K10-S2 Epoxy Patch over the “tacky” primed surface and start hand troweling into place.  Apply pressure to “compact” material into a dense monolithic topping. Do not “over-trowel” material.  Working time of batch is approximate 15-20 minutes at 75°F. Machine trowel or screed may also be used.

CURE TIME E1000 K10-S2 Epoxy Patch will harden sufficiently for light foot traffic in 4-6 hours and vehicular traffic in 24-36 hours at 75°F.  Full cure is 5 days at 75°F.

COVERAGE K10-S2 Epoxy Mortar (Horizontal Applications) – Each 5 gallon kit will cover 30 sq. ft. @ 1/8” and 15 sq. ft. @ ¼” thickness or .3125 cubic feet.

SEALER COAT For best result it is recommended PC-1000 K10-S2 Epoxy Patch be sealed with an Epoxy Top Coat.

CLEAN UP Clean up immediately with SA-17 Clean Up Thinner or S-74 Thinner.  These clean up solvents are flammable.  Keep away from all sources of ignition.

CAUTIONS E1000 Epoxy is not a fire hazard; the flash point is 300°F.  However, under conditions of fire, it will burn and release potentially toxic fumes.  The Base portion is relatively inert physiologically.  The Hardener is corrosive and contains amines and related materials.  These can cause irritation and possible chemical burns to the skin and eyes.  This is also true for mixtures of Base and Hardener. The Hardener (Part B) and mixtures of Base (Part A) with Hardener (Part B) can cause eye and skin burns as well as allergic reactions.  The use of goggles, fresh air masks or NIOSH approved respirators, protective skin cream and protective clothing is a recommended standard practice when spraying coatings.
