Product Use Instructions 

Surface Preparation

Concrete: Surfaces should be allowed to cure for am minimum of 20 days before coating. Excessive weak surface laitance must be removed by either acid etching or abrasive sweeping before coating. Aged, uncoated concrete surfaces are best prepared by abrasive sweeping. Contamination by oil or grease should be removed with an industrial degreaser before abrasive blasting or acid etching as this will significantly effect coating adhesion.

Mixing Procedures

This material is a two-component product, premeasured to produce the desired kit size once part A and B are mixed. For small kits, a Jiffy type mixer with a high torque motor is recommended for proper blending. Pour the curing agent into the base and mix for about 1 minute, taking care to reach all corners and walls to eliminate unmixed material. Unmixed material will never harden. Material may immediately be used.

NOTE: Pot life and reaction time is heavily dependent on temperature. As a general guide, every 18F above 77F will half pot life and cure time.

Application 

No induction or “sweat- in” time is required, mixed material may be used immediately

CONCRETE: Apply with a roller using typically a 3/8″ nap. Especially rough surfaces will apply more easily using a 1⁄2″ nap. Application to flooring is assisted by using a squeegee to distribute then back rolling to achieve an even coat.
The material will thicken in cold weather and will be noticeably harder to apply. If permissible, use lacquer thinner or MEK at 5-10% volume on the mix to greatly reduce viscosity. When used as a sealer, take care not to over apply the product which will be unabsorbed into the surface and create a glossy, “wet” surface.

SHEET ROCK: BIO-SEAL E197 applied over bare sheetrock may be overcoated with latex paint as soon as absorption is complete indicated by loss of gloss.

When glossy surface is desired at least 2 coats will be necessary. The first coat will penetrate and seal the surface the second coat will sit on the surface. Let the first coat cure for minimum three hours to prevent further absorption by the second coat. A light broadcast of abrasive can be applied between coats to produce a non-skid surface.

CURING BEFORE SERVICE: May be immersed in fresh or salt water immediately after application. It will cure to hard film within about 24 hours and is suitable for traffic after this time. Allow at least three (3) days at 77F before subjecting to aggressive chemical service from industrial solvents and similar materials.

Once applied to wet surface, product can be submerged and cured under water. NOTE-  product cannot sustain wave movement until fully cured!
